Who We Are

Organization

We dedicate our lives to the worship of Lord Yahweh. In doing so, we enjoy the fruits of living through service, fellowship and conscious living. We value brotherhood, family, and peace above all. Yam Suph (ים סוף) is the original name of the Red Sea, where Lord Yahweh created a path for his people towards freedom, and put to death their pursuers.

We are structured as a spiritual army and chivalric order, following in the vein of our Christian brothers and sisters who have changed the world through peace, charity and education. We are a social club, emphasising close relations between brothers.

Our membership is open to men, aged 18 and above, who belong to an approved Christian denomination. Membership is a lifetime commitment, and can not be relinquished or regained. We are a non-political organization.

We consist of autonomous lodges, asefah, all beholden to the statutes and regulations of the Supreme Council. The head of The Yam Suph Society is our founder Commander Matityahu.

Recognition

Degrees & Honors

Honors belong to members only. Degrees are internal signifiers of a member's rank, education and dedication.

GOVERNANCE & STRUCTURE

The Commission — Sod Tzava

The Commission — Sod Tzava — is the supreme council of the Society — the body from which all authority flows. It issues the statutes and regulations to which every Asefah is beholden, and safeguards the rites, customs and doctrine of the order.

The Commission holds twelve seats: the Commander (Sar Tzava), the Deputy Commander (Segan Tzava), and ten Councillors (Sar Sod). Of the councillors, three hold the offices of Secretary, Treasurer and Archiver; the remainder serve without additional office.

The head of the Society is our founder, Commander Matityahu. The full composition of the Commission and its relation to the Divisions is set out in the chart below.
